.The crowing has begun, it's time to get up because a new business day has started. An alarm clock isn`t required. It`s still quiet outside, but a faint hum from the waking bees can be heard. As long as it´s like that, things are good. They`re ventilating air with their wings. At the same time excess watter is evaporating from the nectar that the bees have brought throughout the day from flowers that will come in handy during the winter.
In our life, we often have a breakthrough moment that can end well. This happened to me 32 years ago. My friend Franjo Tomašković was a bee-keeper who fell in love with bees. He told me, "You have such a good farm, and you have no bees." And that was it. I drove a bicycle to Peščeno to his bee farm and we started to create a great story. Franjo had a weak heart, and I was full of energy, also a thriving will and enthusiasm for bees. I bought two beehives the following year. We put a swarm of bees inside a box and put it on my new bee farm. When bees reward you for your effort it is an incentive that makes you feel like nothing is too hard to do if it`s done for them.
They have returned the favor to me in so many ways to this day. I also graduated beekeeping school, I opened a workplace for filling honey jars and in that manner guaranteed customers a truly original product. In today`s day it can be seen on facebook that someone asks "where can I find real honey"? The answer comes immediately "go to Dolac and find Grobotek". Our place of sale is at the Dolac Market in Zagreb. I`ve always thought that the product must be maximally associated with a buyer without any intermediaries , and today I know I was right. In that manner I`ve gotten so many acquaintances, colleagues and good friends over the years. Today we have slowly reduced production because I am entering my golden years and feel like I should begin to help others as my friend Franjo helped me. If I were to be born again I would still choose a life with bees.
